Whenever purchasing anything electronic people have to clue in and realize that nothing is made to last, everything will always fail at one point or another. This is why if you hold important data on your computer you must always backup your data. We techs & sales people preach this to customers when purchasing a new system or when they have a system in for service then when they have a hard drive failure and lose those first 4 years of their child's life or their entire database for their business and again THEY GET PISSED AT US FOR IT. They get mad at us because they realize how stupid they were when they said no to a backup hard drive because their cheap. I'm sure all of us techs feel the same way when the customer has a complete hard drive failure call the customer and say "we need to replace your hard drive, just bring in your backup and we'll transfer the data", and the famous and most common response from the customer is "ummm, I don't have one"......Well then no data for you-who.
Even if someone does experience a situation where they lose everything, have the hard drive replaced, then have another complete hard drive failure 90% of people will still have not backed up their data.
Commonly used lines when asked why they don't backup & my response to their reason.
Customer: "I don't have the time to spend backing up"
Me: "We'll then it can't be that important & you're just a lazy moron"
Customer: "I don't want to spend the money on a backup hard drive"
Me: "Then your a cheap douche and just want a reason to bitch and complain"
Customer: "You never told me to backup"
Me: *Prints out quote for backup hard drive when customer had first hard drive failure* "Yeah, shut up. Your a liar, go away"
